I do love a good cocktail, especially at the height of summer. In winter, I’m more of a wine girl but once we have a bit of sunshine and warmth, I’m rather partial to heading over to my bar cart and mixing up a batch of whatever takes my fancy. I also have always loved iced tea. It’s gloriously refreshing and while it’s not as popular here in the UK as it is in the US, I thought I’d try to bridge that gap today by appealing to the Brit’s love of alcohol. Oh yes, today I’m sharing three ice tea-based cocktails.

Summer Cocktail Recipes Made with Iced Tea

I wanted to team up today with two really fabulous brands that I love. When I had the idea for this post, I went straight to one of my favourite brands of herbal teas, Newby Teas. They have so many gorgeous flavours and I’m genuinely impressed with the quality of their teas and tisanes.

There is no chalky or powdery after taste that you sometimes get with teas and the flavours are amazing. I think with any cocktail, the quality of your ingredients counts for a lot so using low-quality tea for these is going to affect the quality of the finished result. I genuinely adore Newby – they have a huge variety of flavours and I knew they’d make an excellent base for my cocktail ideas.

Newby Teas

The second brand who’s helping me out for today’s post is Amara. They have an amazing assortment of home accessories on their website and I knew for this post, their glassware would be the perfect fit for the three cocktails I was making today.

I chose the LSA Gin Cocktail Set which gives you the perfect combination of glasses – 2 Highball Glasses, 2 Cocktail Glasses and 2 Balloon Glasses along with a beautiful pitcher and glass mixer – all in one set. So if you are looking to doll up your barware, it’s a great set to get you started.

Newby Tea and Amara Summer Tea Cocktails

I particularly love the chunky bases on all the stemmed glasses and how the pitcher reminds me of a science beaker! It’s a stunning set and Amara has so many gorgeous items in their glassware collection, perfect for showing off on a bar cart. So shall we get started? Remember, you’ll want to make your teas and tisanes ahead of time to give them enough time to cool!

Raspberry Tea Russian

Raspberry Tea Russian fruity cocktail made with summer berry tisane

Oh, how I love Chambord. The raspberry flavour liquor is delightfully sweet but when combined with the strong sweet and sour berry flavours of Newby Summer Fruit Tisane and a bit of vodka, the resulting concoction is delightfully summery.

Ingredients (Makes 2)

Method

Steep 2 tea bags in approximately 400ml of just boiled water for 5 minutes and let cool completely. Fill goblets with ice and add 1 shot of Chambord and vodka to each glass. Top up with Newby Summer Berries Fruit Tisane and garnish with additional berries.

Raspberry Tea Russian fruity cocktail

This is very refreshing and the taste of the berry tisane really comes through. It’s more of an iced tea in that it isn’t overly sweet although if you wanted something sweeter, you could try adding one tsp of sugar syrup. I feel like this one is really the perfect summer drink – the Chambord adds just a touch of sweetness and masks the strong vodka. It’s ridiculously easy to drink (which could be dangerous really).

Ginger Smash

Ginger Smash cocktail with gin liquour and ginger and lemon tea

This has a crazy amount of different flavours which all come together in a delicious cacophony! The addition of the egg white makes you feel like a proper bartender and adds a lovely fluffy top. I dare you to drink just one.

Steep 2 tea bags in 1 cup of just boiled water for 5 minutes and let cool completely. In a cocktail shaker combine all ingredients plus one ice cube and shake well. Pour into cocktail glass, garnish with lemon slice and serve.

This one is absolutely gorgeous and my favourite of the lot. I actually just experimented with this one and I’m so glad I took a chance because oh my god. Yum. If you like sweet cocktails that actually taste wonderful and are the prettiest shade of peach, you’re going to like this one. It’s such a wonderful medley of flavours and the ginger & lemon tea really does come through, sassed up with hints of others. It sounds like a crazy combination but I promise, it really is utterly delicious. I’ll be making these again for sure.

Mint Green Tea Mojito

Mint Green Tea Mojito cocktail

Who doesn’t like a mojito? No one, that’s who. This classic rum drink gets a total upgrade, however, with the inclusion of a delightfully minty green tea as the base. This was Wayne’s favourite!

Ingredients (Makes 3)

Mint Green Tea Mojito ingredients

Method

Mint Green Tea Mojito cocktail

Steep 4 tea bags in approximately 400ml of just boiled water for 5 minutes and let cool completely.

Setting aside a few stems of mint for garnish, tear the remaining mint leaves and pat in your palms. The clapping motion will release the oils. Place the mint leaves at the bottom of the pitcher and squeeze the juice of 1 lime on top. Cut the other lime up, squeezing some, leaving others in tact on top of the mint leaves. Using a muddler, press down on the mint and limes to release all the juices and oils.

Now pour 4 shots of dark rum into the pitcher followed by 2 shots of sugar syrup. Fill part way with ice and top with chilled mint tea. Use the muddler, pulling the mint leaves and limes from the bottom and mix everything well.

Top 2 highball glasses with ice and pour Mojito mixture into glasses. Garnish liberally with a few stems of mint leaves.

Mint Green Tea Mojito cocktail detail

This really is the perfect blend of summer iced tea with the minty freshness of a mojito. It’s not overly sweet but you can adjust the sweetness with less or more sugar syrup.

So those are my three tea-based cocktails! Are you much of a cocktail maker yourself? What’s your signature drink? I’d love to know which of these sounds like something you’d enjoy so do let me know what you think in the comments.

Disclaimer: I teamed up with both Amara and Newby Teas for this post, both of whom I approached personally to sponsor this post. I love both of these brands and only work with companies I really love and think you’ll like too! Thanks so much for supporting the brands that support Swoon Worthy.

Unboxing my new card deck Daily Dose of Magic by my gorgeous bestie Victoria Jackson of @themanifestationcollective ! ✨

This is not an ad, I am just so in love with them, I wanted to share for my spiritual witchy friends out there πŸ₯°

Ad (Press Sample) There are few kitchen products that are considered absolute classics but there is one that I have lusted after for YEARS and that is the utterly iconic @lecreusetuk large casserole pot. 🀩

For nearly a century, Le Creuset has been trusted for its superior performance, lasting quality and iconic design and the enamelled cast iron allows incredible versatility - not only can you use it with just about any heat source (from induction, glass, electric etc), you can also do everything from stir-fry to slow cooking to baking a cake in it and more.

So, imagine my delight when Le Creuset got in touch to ask if I'd like to shoot their brand new colourway πŸ‘ PΓͺche πŸ‘ in my kitchen. I mean, there couldn't be a more perfect colour match with that juicy coral shade which if you've followed my account for any length of time, you'll know is one of my all-time favourites (not to mention that beautiful soft gold knob! 😍). The matching petite casserole dish and mugs are the perfect companions but you could easily mix and match this colourway with Le Creuset's other designs (Might I suggest the Sea Salt, a soft blue-green which would be gorgeous with PΓͺche). This new juicy summer shade is currently available exclusively at Le Creuset Official. I'd love to know which colourway is your favourite in the range?

I've really loved making these pretty reusable Christmas crackers! I'm still in the process of finding cute bits for filling them but they'll definitely be a centrepiece for my table this year!πŸŽ„πŸ’•

Suggestions for what to fill them with coming soon!

(By the way, I'm not a skilled seamstress so I'm sure my techniques can be improved but just sharing what worked for me πŸ€—πŸ˜…)

Let me know if this is something you'd try? ❀️

I've been thinking about making refillable crackers for so many years now - I just hate the waste the disposal ones create! So I'm so excited I've finally gotten around to starting this project!

I will be sharing more details on how to make them as well as ideas for what to fill them with too so stay tuned for more but in the meantime, what do you think?

Well there's nothing like an impending deadline to light a πŸ”₯ under my πŸ‘ and I managed to clear out the clutter, repaint the woodwork, ceilings and walls and hang wallpaper as well as restyle the room in one week πŸ˜… (Meisha was zero help 😼)

πŸ”₯JOIN US ROUND THE FIRE PIT! πŸ”₯

ad | One of my favorite things to do in summer is sit around the fire pit in the evenings with a cold beer 🍻 There's just something incredibly relaxing watching those flames and embers crackle, warming yourself up and taking the edge off falling temperatures as the sun sets!

Thanks to @homefireuk they've made the whole process incredibly easy and enjoyable with their Handy Firepit Bundle which include 2 bags of kindling, 2 bags of natural firestarters and 3 large bags of kiln-dried logs πŸͺ΅ for a really great price!

No more standing around waiting for things to light properly or billowing smoke from wet wood, everything burns beautifully! ☺️ We literally sat around this for hours as the logs last so long, long after the sun set, just chatting and enjoying ourselves! πŸ₯°πŸ»πŸ”₯

Do you love a good firepit in the summer?

Ad 🩷 Before and after Deck makeover! 🩷

This little decked patio was looking worse for wear after a wet winter but @frenchicpaint came to the rescue with their beautiful Dusty Blush Alfresco Paint, perfect for all your outdoor projects!

The deck has been a few colours over the past few years but this is definitely the most fun and gives the whole space such a tropical vibe - even in Shrewsbury! 🏝️ πŸ¦©πŸΉπŸ˜„

The paint has incredible coverage and was so nice to use - I loved the tools they provided too, especially the oval brush which got into all the nooks and crannies easily!

Let me know what you think of the new colour!

So on a whim I decided to paint the bedroom pink yesterday πŸ˜…πŸ©·

This room has been neglected for so long as I've wanted to fully redecorate for about 3 years now but there are always other bigger priorities or a lack of time/energy/money so I keep putting it off πŸ™ƒπŸ™ƒπŸ™ƒ (tell me I'm not the only one) but happily this didn't cost a penny as I used what I already had although it did take me the best part of a day!

I went through my paint stash and found that I had extra @coatpaints Percy from when I did the living room early last year -- well I'm not one to let something this good go to waste (honestly this paint is absolutely wonderful to work with and has amazing coverage) and my goodness it's just so pretty in here πŸ₯° I also moved my pink curtains from my office into here and the whole room just glows!

I might actually be able to live with the mural a little longer until the room gets the attention it deserves! Let me know if you like the change β™₯️

*For those who are wondering, it used to be white walls and I had grey curtains! πŸ˜…

Finally managed to get the gallery wall completed in our hallway!

I couldn't have been happier with @violajayphotography capturing our little intimate wedding in October and knew as soon as I saw the photos I had to print them for our home! I admit, I've never been one to hang photos but it's probably because all we ever had after 14 years together was selfies πŸ˜‚πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈ I'm so pleased we finally have some lovely shots of us together πŸ₯°
